Denim Game Changers

Jeans: black, blue, white- you name it & I love them all.
Recently I've been hunting down some new jeans for uni because my old ones are tatty and faded so I thought why not add to my jean collection.
*cheers & starts dancing around the room*

I am certainly a jeans sort of girl rather than a dresses & skirts one.
This in some way does make me sad because I do love dresses/ skirts but I just never feel that comfortable in them (Although I am trying to change this).

Long story short your more likely to see me in jeans then anything else...

Yet I am quite fussy about where I buy my jeans from because personally I think they are the one item of clothing you need to spend that little bit more money on. So I trekked down to my local River Island to see what they had in store...

Light Blue Lori High Rise Badge Skinny Jeans £45

These jeans are just gorgeous!
Normally I'm not really a fan of badges on my clothes but lately I've been going a little badge obsessed. Personally I think these have the right amount of badges on them because sometimes I think too many can look too much.

I think cute t-shirts paired with these jeans would look great!
They would go with so many tops in my wardrobe & I love the fact that they are high rise- none of that awkward trouser slipping down look here.

I can't wait to purchase a pair of these and start living in them.
At £45 you may think that's a bit steep but for good quality jeans I don't think it's too bad.

I've added the link to the online store HERE if you want to check them out but be quick because they are sell out fast!

Let me know if you brought a pair in the comments below.

What are your favourite shops to buy jeans from?

Hope you enjoyed this post & I'll see you all very soon.

American Fashion Haul & Treasured finds.

Fashion is one of my biggest loves...
Confessions of a Shopaholic book series are some of my favourite to read because I can definitely relate.
This post is the second half of my American beauty haul, but obviously fashion instead of beauty.
Now I'm going to stop rambling and I'll let you see what I brought...

Not my own picture

This Zara bag is literally the cutest although I do think it needs to say 'Dear Disney Springs, Can I buy the entire Zara store?'
The Zara in Disney Springs was MASSIVE- I think I spent about an hour going round just the first floor!

This top above is one of my purchases from Zara- I thought it would be perfect for around Christmas time (Is it too early to start talking about Christmas?!?) I think not!
Paired with black skinny jeans, silver or red shoes & red lipstick would make a great Christmas combo!

I fell in love with this top the second I saw it!
I don't really know how I would describe my style but I would definitely say I love quirky items.
This top will be great with a pair of blue jeans & sneakers, casual but cool!

Can we just take a moment to appreciate this photo?
Okay so it may not be that great but I was very proud of it.
This necklace is the type of thing that would take a plain top from zero to hero, I'm planning to wear it with a plain white top and blue jeans to bring out the blue in the necklace.

It's all about the back detail right now & this top certainly ticked that box!
The daisy print of this top is so freaking cute, I loved it so much before I even turned it around... I adore the lace up detail up the back & it's so in fashion right now.
This top is a quirky twist on a popular trend.

All three items featured above are from Forever 21

Mary Jane's are the sort of shoe you can just throw on with any outfit- simple but not understated.
As I'm starting uni in a couple of weeks I thought these would be perfect to just throw on, stylish yet comfortable- a perfect combo.
And they were only like $15 from Urban Outfitters which is an absolute bargain!

This isn't everything I brought in America but it is some of my more treasured finds.
I hope you all enjoyed this post & I'd love to hear your comments below.

What's your favourite American shop?

Hope you all having a fabulous Monday & I'll see you all very soon.

American Beauty Haul- Flat Lays, Ombre Lips & Halloween Treats

As a self-confessed beauty addict of course I couldn't wait to go shopping in America.
Here's a little peek at what I brought...

I totally got my flat-lay game together for this post- it took me about 10 attempts with various different lighting effects. But I got there in the end.

Here you can see I brought a Covergirl lipstick in the number 335- it's a gorgeous pinky/purple shade that's quite subtle but the pigment of this lipstick is amazing. It was super cheap- I think about $4 which kind of made me think it wouldn't be that good but I can't recommend it enough!

NYX Liquid Suede matte lipsticks have exploded onto the beauty front since earlier this year and I finally got my hands on one! *cheers* As Autumn isn't too far away I thought why not add a bit of purple to my rather large lipstick collection in the shade number 19. This colour really stood out to me because I love dark lips for the Winter but I did actually rock this shade one night at the park's, which was where one of the Disney park's staff members said they loved the shade.
My confidence was boosted by about 100% after that comment.

I might be wrong but in the UK I haven't seen the ombre NYX lipstick so I knew I'd definitely be purchasing that whilst in the US. I brought the shade 'Hollywood & Wine' which seemed a popular shade in the store. I'm still waiting for the right opportunity to wear it yet but when I do I'll let you know what I think.

I have been wanting to try the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick for so long and now I have. I wanted a shade I could wear day to day so the shade Fig was perfect for this.
It's a nude/ pink sort of shade that feels so good on!

Like many other people I too wanted to visit Bath & Body Works because I've heard so many good things about them! I waned to get something that was Halloween themed so I picked up this Pumpkin Latte body wash which will be great for cold, autumnal nights. I also got this Lemon Buttercream Hand Sanitiser because it smelt SO good- I don't usually like lemon scented things but this smells so fresh & I just love it!

This lip balms go everywhere with me- I'm constantly applying & reapplying them because I FREAKING love them- I already have an orange scented one so I got a passion fruit, strawberry sorbet & summer fruit scents to add to my collection. Plus they're super cheap in the US so it's well worthing getting them over there.

Sephora was makeup heaven on earth!

I hope as always you all enjoyed this post.
Comment below what your favourite item is from this haul.

I'll back on Tuesday with a Fashion Haul post because I also brought a lot of clothes too in America and the post would have been too long if I put them together all in one post.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Lowdown on Florida

As most of you reading this already know, I've recently been on a trip to Florida.
So I thought it would be nice for me to recommend some of my favourite places that I visited whilst I was there...

Harry Potter, Universal Studios.

In my opinion no trip to Florida is complete without visiting the Universal Studios, where you can step inside the magical world of Harry Potter. Now I'm not a crazy fan of Harry Potter- I mean I've seen all the films but they're not my favourite. Basically I'm saying you don't have to be a massive fan to visit here, I'm not and I still enjoyed it very much!
The production & set making of the 'World of Potter' is truly stunning and it really does feel like you've walked right into one of the films.

Epcot.

This is my parent's favourite park but not so much mine, yet I would still recommend a visit there because rides such as Soarin or Frozen (yes I am a fan) should not be missed!
Plus if you're a lover of Instagram like me then you can get some beautiful shots of the park.

Magic Kingdom.

This park truly is the place to feel like a prince or princess & it's where all you dreams come true.
Wishes firework display has to be one of my favourites because it's just so magical.
My favourite ride here was the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, it has very long queues but I would say it was worth it.

Animal Kingdom.
I didn't really remember a lot from Animal Kingdom the last time we went to Florida, so I wanted to return to see what it was like.
This park is perfect for animal lovers and I don't know why but it felt really peaceful compared to the other parks.

Bath & Body Works.
Okay so I've been wanting to visit this store for about the last 2/3 years because as a blogger I've heard a lot of hype about it.
It kind of reminded me of Body Shop in a way- but it wasn't what I was expecting.
I managed to get my hands on some yummy Halloween treats which will be appearing soon on my blog.

Forever 21.
Lately in the UK I've been pretty disappointed with Forever 21 stores so I wasn't really expecting anything when I went to America. But I FREAKING LOVED it!
Honestly I could have brought the entire shop- my Mum & I would be lost in that shop for hours much to my Dad's annoyance. What can I say other than I just love to shop?!?

Sephora.
This next statement might shock you but before America I had never been in a Sephora before so of course it was on my agenda to visit. For me Sephora is the makeup version of Forever 21 & I spent so long in there.

Cheesecake Factory.
One of my friends told me about this place and I'm so glad she did!
Their cheesecakes are literally heaven on earth!
I tried this s'mores one and OMG it tasted gorgeous, literally melting in you mouth good.

IHOP.
Again my friend recommended this place (she knows me too well) because I love pancakes and these are some of the best! Prices aren't actually that expensive and you get a lot of food for your money.

Other Finds.
Oreo Milkshake from Five Guys, I love Oreo's a LOT so when I find out that virtually everywhere sells Oreo Cookie milkshake in America I was over the moon!
Five Guys was one of the best.

Hope you all enjoyed this post, I'm still very sad that I am no longer in America but the weather has got better here recently meaning I can top up my tan.

What's your favourite place to visit in America?
Let me know in the comments below.

I'll be back on Saturday with a very exciting Haul post.

Exciting Things To Come

Okay so this isn't the post I said I was doing today but don't worry that is coming very soon.
A lot of exciting things have happened recently for me & I felt it was about time I shared the news...

When I started this blog about 10 months ago, I didn't have any intentions or expectations, okay so I be lying if I said I didn't hope my blog be be an instant hit but looking back now I know that was a tad unrealistic.
I know a lot of bloggers say this but the only reason I started my blog was because I wanted somewhere to share my thoughts & opinions. Back when I started 'LippieTalk' I didn't know what to do with my life, nothing felt right.

Now a year later I'm about to start my dream university course, Fashion Communication & I'll be leaving the family nest for the first time.
I'm very nervous but even more excited- it's a weird mix of emotions!

I've got exciting opportunities coming up for my blog as well...

I recently joined Hype was an influencer and this felt amazing!
Hype is an app that tells you about where to go/ what new food to try/ where to buy the latest trends & it's very cool!

Examples of my posts on Hype
It allows to to see what people & influencers have been recommending in cities such as New York, London, San Francisco so you too can check out all the different places & events that go on around the world.

To find out more about Hype click HERE
You can download the Hype app from the App Store.

The second very exciting blogging opportunity offer I've had is to test out a new platform, Impulse which will be launching this year.

Impulse is a new social platform that is all about creating the life you want to live, it allows you to showcase what you've brought and love. Impulse makes buying items simple in our fast paced lives so each image posted has the link to where you can buy the product from.
I'm very excited to work with Impulse.

A year ago I wasn't happy because I didn't enjoy what I was doing with my life,  I guess nothing seemed exciting. A year later, it's the opposite story, I'm very excited to try lots of new things for the first time & to just have fun!
I will be blogging about my Fashion Communication course from end of September onwards, alongside the usual blogging topics I cover.

I will also keep you all up to date with Hype & Impulse.

I'll be back on Wednesday with the 'Where to go in Florida' post so check back then for that.

I'd love to hear what exciting things you are looking forward too in the comments below!

The American Dream

I'm finally back blogging after a rather hectic week since I got back from America.
If you guys follow me on Instagram (cheeky plug- @gemma_roseharp) then you will already know that I've just spent two weeks loving life in Disneyland Florida.
And I'm now very sad to be sat writing this back in damp, rainy England.

Still I had an AMAZING time in Florida and I think it will be very hard to ever top this holiday.
This wasn't the first time I've been to Florida as I went 9 years ago but it was the first proper holiday I've had since starting my blog. So naturally I went a bit photo obsessed!

I want to do a couple of posts over the next week or so about my 'American Adventure', so I was thinking of doing more of a general post today. Then I'll do 'Where to go' & 'Haul' posts later on, because I brought a LOT, to the point that I had to sit on my suitcase just to shut it.
But more on that another time...

This post is going to be full to the brim with lots of photographs because I think they can tell you more about the fabulous world of Disney than just me talking about it.

Besides who wouldn't want to look at pretty photos?
So grab a cuppa & enjoy flick through my American Adventure...

Sorry for the extremely long post...
I just had so many photos that I wanted to share because each and every one of them in this post held a special memory.

As always I hope you enjoyed this post & let me know what you thought of it in the comments below.

I'll be back on Sunday with my 'Where to go in Florida' post so check back then for that.
I hope you all have an amazing weekend and I'll see you all very soon.
