Pumpkins & Beauty Tricks and Treats!

Its almost that time of the year again....
Yes you guessed it, it's almost Halloween!!!

Now I'm gonna be honest I don't really like being scared and I hate horror movies but I do love 'Halloween'- it's one of my favourite holidays besides Christmas of course! I think the reason I love it so much is that it's so much fun to get all dressed up and made-up- I think Halloween is one of the only times of the year where you can really go all out there to be as wacky and creative as you want!
Also 'Halloween' does also mean 'Christmas' isn't too far away and since when is that a bad thing?

So I know I may just be getting a little bit ahead of myself here as Halloween is still another week away (boo!) but I thought I'd featured Halloween items and makeup ideas to get you more in the mood, so that by the 31st you will be all prepared!

Let the 'Spooktacular' begin- did you like the pun there?

Firstly 'Halloween' goodies but not the sweet kind!
Primark Earrings, £1
I think these 'Ghost earrings' are a really great purchase for 'Halloween' especially if you don't want to get all dressed up and 'go all out Halloween', as they are really fun and cute! (Can ghosts ever be cute?) If they only last this year then it doesn't matter because you only paid a £1 but if they do last then even better you can wear them next year too! I will definitely be sporting these on 'Halloween'- you never know the ghostly earring trend might catch on!

Primark T-shirt, £6
When I saw this in my local Primark store, I just knew I had to buy one! I just really love this! For me it literally sums up my Halloween in one T-shirt- Do any of you guys agree?
I just think it's really fun, very Halloweeny (Is this even a word?) and again if you only wear it for one year then it doesn't matter because it's only £6. This isn't the only Halloween T-shirt Primark do- they have lots of different ones all with different things on the front (or even the back in some cases)

Quick Tip:
If you don't like Primark (One word, Why?) then other stores such as Boohoo and Asos also do great Halloween themed clothing too- I love this jumper on Asos:
The 'Ghosts' on the elbows are so adorable!
But if you didn't want to pay £22 for a jumper you might only wear one day a year then you could easily cut out 'Ghost' shapes from a piece on white fabric and sew it onto a jumper that you already own.
Here are the links for Asos and Boohoo- I'd recommend checking them out if your still on the lookout for your Halloween costume:

Now onto some ghostly, Halloween makeup:
Lipsticks in the shades 107 (Kate Collection for Rimmel) and Mulberry (Sleek), prices around £4.99,
I love, love, love these two shades- if I'm completely honest I didn't actually buy these with Halloween in mind but they are both quite dark, gothic shades so why not?
The Rimmel one is more of a plum/ red sort of shade so perfect for dressing up as a vampire and the Sleek one is more of a darker, plum so it's great for a Witch's outfit.
I've added the links in also for these so you guys can go and check them out:

The 'Cobweb and the Scar' Makeup technique:
Now I am most definitely not a makeup artist but I do love art and I would called myself quite creative so I was playing around with some tricks (which are very simple) that I thought you guys might like to try.
Note that I've done these on my hand but you can apply these anywhere on your body- arms, shoulder, face- Wherever you like!

The Cobweb:
What I used:
- Black liquid eyeliner (I used one by Avon)
-White Kohl eyeliner
-Grey/black eyeshadow (by Bourjois)
(If any of you want to know the exact products then leave a comment asking what you'd like to know and I'll get back to you)

Firstly I began by drawing out the basis of the cobweb by drawing out 6 vertical lines that crossed over each other like a star using the black liquid eyeliner. Then I drew the lines that connected the 6 lines together horizontally also using the same liquid eyeliner. I followed this with the grey and black eyeshadow- I tried to apply it darker in the centre of the cobweb then made it lighter towards the outside. To finish off I used the white eyeliner to go over all my lines and to make the 'Cobweb' stand out a bit more.

 The Scar:
What I used:
-Black liquid eyeliner (same as before)
-White kohl eyeliner (again the same as before)
-Red Rimmel lipstick in the shade 107

Firstly I dragged the red lipstick across the place where I wanted my scar to be- don't be afraid to make this line a bit messy as scars aren't necessarily straight. Then I outlined the scar with the black liquid eyeliner and again I finished off with the white eyeliner as I tried to add more depth to the scar by adding the light and dark effect.

You can make these as big or as small as you want, just remember one thing- Have fun and be a bit creative! If you make a mistake then you can just try again.
There are also lots of Halloween makeup tips/ tutorials on YouTube so if these aren't your thing them check more out on there.

Finally Yankee Candles (How could I almost forget these?!?)
Candy Corn, £1.99 each.
I only found these candles this year and I'm not going to lie, I've become a little bit obsessed!
This one is only produced for Halloween so it's not an all round thing but they smell delicious- it's at times like this I wish that you could add a scent to blog posts. If I could then 'Candy Corn' would be the scent I'd add to this one.
So good if you haven't checked them out already then you should! They do have a bigger jar of 'Candy Corn' but I only brought the little ones as I think these were enough for me to use over the Halloween period...

So that's the end of today's post- I hope it's got you all in the mood for Halloween!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on today's post in the comments below.
If you guys have any more good Halloween tips then feel free to share them below also.

I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween!
I love to know if this post was helpful to any of you at all...
and I'll see you next Sunday for more!

Have a great week guys and remember 'HAPPY HALLOWEEN!'

What's in my bag? This way to a girl's heart....

As we are just getting to know each other- I thought it would be a good idea to start with a 'what's in my bag' post...
As a girl, I find I can't EVER leave the house without my bag... and the contents inside it.
So do you want to know 'what's in my bag'?
Before we begin, I'll start by telling you guys where I got this little beauty from:

My fringed bag is from Primark, £10.
I really love this bag- Talk about love at first sight!
To be honest when I heard 'fringing' was going to be a big trend I was a bit unsure of how I felt about it. So I thought a good way to be on trend without going over board would be by wearing the trend on my bag (I literally have images in my head of bags wearing clothes right now- please tell me I'm not the only one?!?)
'What's in my bag'-
Phone:
To be honest who leaves the house with out their phone's anyway?
I don't know a single teenage girl (or boy) who does?!?!
Although I will agree sometimes it is good to step away from this amazing world of technology back into reality every once in a while.
As a wise person once said: 'You can't live your life through a screen'.
I do adore my phone though- I remember when I first got an iPhone- all the begging definitely paid off!
Notebook:

This is from Paperchase
I can't remember exactly how much it cost but I think it was around £8. Its a cute A5/6 sort of size which makes it perfect for when I'm on the move and I want to jot things down... It has everything in it from new blog post ideas to Christmas present ideas for my family and friends (Yes the arrangements for Christmas have already started!)
Going off topic slightly- 'I really can't wait till Christmas'....
Pen:
I've gained a very large collection of pens after travelling to lots of Universities open days so if you ever need a pen- then I'm your girl!
Although this one is one of my favourites (I'm I the only person who has a favourite pen?) and I don't think I actually got this from an open day but I love the words on it 'Little gorjuss things'.
So cute!
Purse:
No bag is complete without money in it!
I really love this purse (also brought from Primark from about £6), yes I do have a slight obsession with Primark - Who doesn't?
I just love the size, colour, texture, the compartments inside- literally everything! I was made up when I found this!
Receipts:
No bag is complete without the big black hole at the bottom full of receipts, vouchers and random bits of paper that somehow manage to make it into your bag and end up staying there for a very, VERY long time.
I do try to keep my bag tidy but its just too hard!
Cosmetic Purse:
Zoella Coin/Cosmetic Purse, £8
This is a perfect size and I love the design on it- I also like how you can see inside but it's not completely see through...
I'm going to be honest I'm not one of those girls who carry's all of their makeup around with them but I do always like to have whatever lipstick I'm wearing in my bag alongside things like a lipbalm, nail file, headache tablets, tissues and other girl things (If you know what I mean) because you never know when you might need any of these things and there's nothing worse then breaking a nail and not having a nail file!

Sunglasses:
Foster Grants
If anyone ever asks me what would I spend more money on then I would always say sunglasses- you can't put a price on good eye protection.
I only recently got these before I went on holiday to Egypt in the summer as I wanted a really good pair of sunglasses to protect my eyes from the intense sunlight they have in Egypt.
I found these in my local Sainsbury's and I fell in love!
I find they give great eye protection and they really suit my face- I love the shape and purple colour of this pair!.
If any of you guys are looking for a nice pair of sunglasses then I really recommend 'Foster Grants' they do amazing male and female sunglasses!

Umbrella:
Primark
I always have an umbrella in my bag because you can never rely on it not raining here in England- I really like the ones Primark sell as you can go for a really patterned one or just a simple black one like this one above. I love the handle and the cute frilly edge on this and it was only £4 - a total bargain!
A Drink and a Snack:
Not always but sometimes especially if I'm going out for the day then I like to have some water and a little snack in my bag... I hate it when your hungry and have got nothing to eat! So I occasionally like to pop a 'penguin bar' in my bag- the jokes always go down a storm! HAHAHA (Picture me rolling on the floor laughing)
So that's pretty everything much that's in my bag...
I hope you guys have enjoyed this post- let me know what you thought in the comments below.
I'm actually looking for a new bag at the moment so if you guys have any recommendations then I'd love to hear them too in the comments.
See you guys next Sunday!
(When I'll be trying help you guys master a 'Nail Art' technique)

New Start, New Me....

Recently I've noticed a change in me-
I've cut my hair short, developed my style more and I just feel more comfortable in my own skin. As cheesy as it sounds I feel happy with who I am. Growing up, I was pretty harsh with myself - I was never happy with the way I looked or who I was. I always wanted to feel like I was accepted and liked,  just like about every other teenage girl wants to be! (and every teenage boy for that matter).

I guess, well I know it was a confidence issue - I was always the type of girl who was happy to be in the background and away from the limelight. But that's not me anymore- while I'm still not quite ready for the spotlight yet, I do feel I want to be in the centre rather than an outsider.

So what I'm saying is that this blog is just about little me expressing herself through her passion for fashion and beauty to any of you guys who are willing to listen. Because I don't know about any of you guys but I know that part of my confidence boost is down to the clothes and the makeup I wear. As the saying goes 'If you love something then just wear it'.

I don't know everything about fashion and beauty - definitely not enough to call myself an expert but what I do know, I want to be able to share with you guys and help you.

So are you guys ready?

For starters I want to ask you guys a question: 'If you could tell your younger self something then what would it be?'

This question was asked to me recently and it really got me thinking... Would I tell myself that boyfriend jeans are definitely not my style or that I would grow to love a certain shade of mustard despite saying 'that you'd never catch me wearing that colour'? No my response was this - 'Life's full of hiccups but its what you learn from it and the journey you take afterwards that counts' Cheesy I know... and what's worse is that a line in the 'Hannah Montana' movie inspired me, 'life's a climb but the view's great'.
Am I the only teenage girl (18 to be exact) who thinks this is a great life motto? Please don't let me be the only one!

So I want to know what your responses to this question would be in the comments below.
I hope you liked this post and well this blog really - hopefully it will be the 'start of something new!' Oh no now I've gone into 'High School Musical' mode- what is it with all these songs being so relatable?!?!

Anyway I'll be back next week with a new post probably on nail art (another passion of mine), I hope you all have a good day!

See you next time

About LippieTalk....

Hello there...

So I'm guessing you've just stumbled across my blog and are wondering what 'LippieTalk' is all about? Am I right?
Well let me tell you how LippieTalk started...
As a teenage girl in this modern yet fast pace world I often look for inspiration for what I wear and how to do my makeup in magazines (as well as online) however is it just me or is there not many magazines aimed at teenage girls between the ages of 16-20? I tend to find that magazines are either aimed at teenagers younger than me or it's aimed at women... So the whole point of  'LippieTalk' is to allow for you guys and me to have a place to find inspiration for fashion and beauty especially when we're at that age of finding out who we are too...
'LippieTalk' is going to be a new online magazine styled blog full of fashion, beauty & lifestyle posts.
There'll be lots of laughs and fun along the way, so are you ready to start a new adventure and explore 'LippieTalk' with me?
