That Lame Company & stationary appreciation

I only recently discovered this company when I attended the Blogger Tiki Party,
'That Lame Company' is run by two graduates who design lots of incredible stationary & office staples, their products truly are every bloggers dream!

I felt so sad when I had to open this beautiful package,
I loved how it was wrapped up like a pineapple specially for the Blogger Tiki Party.

I love these little inspirational postcards, I'm starting university in September and I know these will look perfect on my wall for that bit of motivation to get me through assignments.
I think my favourite is 'Do more of what makes you happy'.
These postcards would be really great to give to someone when they're feeling a bit poopy & sad.

The 'lil reminder' post-stick notes are the most adorable thing I have ever seen, I'm always jotting stuff down that I need to do and remember so this will be so handy.

I highly recommend you all check out 'That Lame Company'
All their stationery is very adorable and it will look so cute sat on you desk or in your office.

What your favourite piece of stationary?

Thanks for reading.
I hope you enjoyed this post & I'll see you all very soon.

Toad Diaries Gifting & Review

As many of you know I attended the Blogger Tiki Party a few weeks ago where I was very kindly gifted a personalised notebook from a company called Toad Diaries.
(Which was very exciting indeed!)

I love, love, love personalised notebooks & diaries because they're personal to you.
And I think it's great to have something that is completely unique to everyone else, so when I heard about Toad Diaries I was really interested to learn more about what they do.

Toad Diaries customise & personalise notebooks and diaries so they can fit perfectly with you, they offer you the chance for to choose your start date, the duration, layout inside and most importantly the cover.
Although this particular diary was gifted to me, all the notebooks and diaries are a very reasonable price considering it's been made specifically for you.

I absolutely love my diary, I've never had anything personalised before so it's lovely to own something that resembles me in some way.

I chose the start date for my diary to be from August 2016 to August 2017 because I'm starting University in September. So I thought it would be useful to have somewhere I can organise my blogging schedule around Uni life.
I also chose to have weekly 'To Do' lists because my life gets very hectic sometimes so it's nice to be able to clearly jot down what I need to do and by when.
Lists definitely make life A LOT more easy at times.

The cover for me was a very important part of the whole design process, I wanted something to resembles the Blogger Tiki Party because it was my first ever blogging event so it will always hold a special place in my heart.

I saw this cocktail design on the website and I thought it couldn't be more perfect, I love the yellow background because it's really bold and bright which really resembles such a happy day plus it means it shouldn't get lost in my mess of a room.
Toad Diaries also allow you to add wording to both the front and back of the diary or notebook for no extra cost, I loved playing around with the wording, I chose "Gemma Rose, Keep dreaming, laughing & blogging" on the front & on the back I put "LippieTalk, Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle" which really fitted with my blog.

I thought it was so cute that on the inside of the cover, it's got all these inspirational quotes to get you motivated for the day ahead.
Such a lovely touch!

When designing my diary on the Toad Diary website it couldn't have been made more simple, it was very clearly laid out so you could easily see what you were producing and what it should look like.
Also before you submit your order it allows to double check everything is how you want it before you click buy which I think is great.

I had never heard of Toad Diaries before but I'm so glad I have now, I think they're a fabulous company who deserve more recognition. The only problem I had when designing my diary was deciding which cover to go for because there was just so much choice, I could have picked about 5 different ones.

I would highly recommend you all check Toad Diaries out.
Trust me you will love them as much as I do.
I can not wait to start using my diary from the beginning of August onwards.

I hope you all enjoyed this post & I'll see you all very soon.

Turning 19

As it was my birthday last week I thought I'd do a post about the day & what I got up to.
In all honesty it only feels like yesterday that I finally became an 'adult' so it's very scary to now be 19, my last year of being a teenager before I set off and become a 'proper' adult....
*Sighs loudly*

Isn't it just ironic that when I was younger I so badly wanted to grow up but now I'm older I just don't want to at all.
The adult world feels such a big scary place that I don't feel quite ready to face just yet, after all I still get my mum to make my dentist appointments for me.

Still my birthday was a fab as it always is...
I felt very spoilt by my lovely family and friends.

I didn't really want to do a lot for my birthday because I've been feel quite stressed lately so I just wanted to chill.
Of course I went for a meal at my old favourite restaurant, Frankie & Benny's.
Their herby potatoes are something else... they taste so incredible!
And don't even get me started on the waffles I had for dessert, I don't know how this is possible but every time I go Frankie & Benny's I fall more and more in love with the place.

*Yes it did taste as good as it looks*

As a soon to be Fashion student obviously my outfit was all planned out for the day well beforehand...

Despite being dead set against culottes when they first became popular, I finally gave into the trend and I'm now a little bit culotte obsessed, especially when it comes in the form of a jumpsuit!
This jumpsuit was something I brought from New Look in the sale for only £10 a while back and I've been waiting to wearing it for a special event. I paired it with a white tee and some nudes heels because anything that gives me a bit of extra height is a winner for me!

A couple of days after my birthday, I celebrated by meeting up with one of my closest friends for a cheeky Wagamamas and a little bit of shopping.
(Another two of my favourite things!)

I've only ever tried Yaki Soba in Wagamamas because it's just so yummy and I can't help ordering it overtime I go.
I want to be more adventurous but what if I don't like whatever else I order then I'll be regretting not getting Yaki Soba...

Polaroids are just the cutest thing...

All in all I had a great birthday, thank you to everyone who celebrated with me and for all your lovely birthday wishes.
I felt the happiest I'd felt in a while and it really was the boost that I needed.

I'm aware it's been a week since my last post which does make me feel a bit guilt but I been having a bit of internet downtime because you can't live your live through a computer screen.
Why waste a beautiful, sunny day sat inside?

I've still got several more post to come about the Blogger Tiki Party and I am currently reviewing my Toad diary which was very kindly gifted to me so I will be reviewing that soon.
(Hopefully it will be up by the end of this week)

I hope you're all having a lovely day & I'll see you all again very soon.

Blogger Tiki Party

Lots of you will know by now, especially if you follow me on Twitter (@lippietalk) & Instagram (@gemma_roseharp) that Sunday 10th July was the fabulous Blogger Tiki Party which was held at the Island Bar, in Birmingham, hosted by the lovely Kirsty.

This was my first ever blogging event so I was definitely feeling nervous & anxious about attending but I think it's good to push yourself outside your comfort zone every once in a while. Because those are the decisions that are going to make you grow as a person although not literally.

This post is full to the brim with lots & LOTS of pictures of the day-
Is it hard to believe that I actually thought I didn't I take many? Oh how wrong I was....

First off... the outfit:

As the party was Tiki themed I chose to wear my New Look pineapple, printed top and my River Island mustard, yellow skirt- surprisingly I actually already owned both so I didn't have to rush out and buy something.

For makeup I wanted to again fit with the theme so I chose to do gold eyes to bring out my blue eye colour and I paired this with a mega-bright red lipstick from Topshop in the shade Boy Racer...
As a self- confessed lipstick addict I can say this colour is one of my favourites.

Whenever I'm going anywhere special I like to do my nails accordingly- my Mum actually found this nail design in a magazine and suggested it for the Tiki party.
Isn't she good?

I have been doing Nail Art for many years but I can honestly say the Barry M Nail Art Pen is just amazing, it made doing the palm trees on my nails as easy as eating a piece of cake.

The Event...

The Island Bar was such a great place to hold the Tiki party- I couldn't get over how incredible the venue was, the lanterns on the ceiling were beautiful.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, making everyone feel at ease.
I hadn't ever heard of the Island Bar before this event but I will definitely be returning in the future!

My biggest regret of the day was not taking this picture in better lighting- talk about blogger problems...
As it was National Pina Colada day we were able to get a Pina Colada for free- we could even make it ourselves, although I didn't because the drink probably would have ended up all down me.
I LOVE Pina Colada's!

It was so lovely meeting other bloggers at the event, everyone was so friendly and welcoming- I usually feel very shy when meeting new people but weirdly I didn't feel as nervous at this event.
It was a bit awkward though when I knew people's blog names but not there actual names...

Brands who attended....

Toad Diaries

Lipivir

Love Aroma

Earlybird

Pink Parcel

Other brands were there too such as 'Little Bit Lavish' & 'Heaven' Skincare unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of these brands.
Note to self for next time... Take pictures of everything!

As well as goodies from all of those very generous brands each blogger was given a goody bag to take home:

I love how the logo for the meet up was put on the front of every goody bag- it is the perfect reminder of a perfect day!

I'm still rummaging though the goody bag now, and I've found lots of new brands I'll be blogging about in the next week or so.

There was also a raffle- I did buy a ticket however I didn't win anything *sad face
But even better all money raised from the raffle has been given to the charity Mind which is absolutely incredible!

Overall it was a very great event!
Kirsty you were amazing and all the hard work & effort that you put into  Blogger Tiki Party really showed- I can't wait to attend other events of yours in the future.

For me this event was a trial run to see how comfortable I'd feel at blogging events, and I'm pleased to say I'll hopefully be attending lots more events in the future.

My next post will be a review of a Toad Diary which was very kindly gifted to me at the event...
I'm hoping to post this in the next couple of days.
Then I've got lots more product reviews from the Blogger Tiki Party that I'd love to do so they should be coming soon too.

As it's my birthday today *Happy Birthday to me
I was going to do a birthday post too... so I can share with you all what I get up to besides blogging.

I hope you enjoyed this post & I can't wait to hear you thoughts in the comments below.

Take care and I'll see you all very soon.
